White Nintendo 3DS XL bundles coming early December for Australia
Nintendo Australia has announced two new ‘White Christmas’ Nintendo 3DS XL bundles. The white 3DS XL will be bundled with either Super Mario 3D Land or Mario Kart 7 pre-installed on the system.
Both of the systems will be available in Australian stores on December 6th but will be available only in limited qualities. So if you’re after a Nintendo 3DS XL this Christmas you might want one of these. The bundles are also out the same day as Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Nintendo hasn’t completely forgotten about the 3DS in the Wii U madness.
Sadly it doesn’t appear that the Pikachu 3DS XL will be coming, if they were going to announce it by now this would have been it.
Update: Paper Mario: Sticker Star is actually out on the 8th (a Saturday), apologies still not quite used to Nintendo games not coming on a Thursday.
A white xl, that’s it?! Pretty sad really, even though sales are very high for the 3DS XL’s here. I would have preferred the Pikachu one then a white one. We always seem to get nothing here in Australia.
Nintendo, show Australia some love and give us our own Collectors 3DS XL (maybe animal crossing related) that is different from the rest of the world.
Also can not find this so called white 3DS anywhere to look at it.
Also to add, like many Australian’s here, we are waiting for Nintendo to release better colours / packs with the 3DS XL. I will not upgrade my 3DS until they can provide a nice colour (none of these red / silver / blue crap) and a pack with at least a decent game. I do not think it is worth upgrading for what they have made available to us, which is basically nothing!!
The 3DS XL is NOT an upgrade to the 3DS, It’s merely just a DIFFERENT version for people who prefer a bigger system and larger screen (big hands, poor eyesight, etc).
Nintendo have made a great product, unfortunately it seems they forgot to go through their decision making team (YOU) before launching the bundle. Shame. Now they are surely to go bankrupt.
I guess you do not like Nintendo.
1. I class it as an upgrade as, it has a bigger screen, bigger device to sit in my hand better and double the battery life, for more hours of enjoyment compared to a normal 3DS, so IS A UPGRADE from a smaller version to a bigger version. Its like upgrading your tv from a 20″ to a 55″. You don’t class that as an upgrade… what ever!
Next, your second “statement” makes no sense, decision making team… what are you even talking about, it is one thing to blot the crap you think, but next time try to explain what you are even talking about. I have been wanting a better colour 3DS XL and been thinking about getting Mario Kart. This solves my problem. 2 birds 1 stone.
I don’t know if that is sarcasm, but Nintendo is the oldest company that has been running consoles / handhelds since the birth and death of Sega. Nintendo are still around, if they would have went bankrupt, it would have happened by now. So your last sentence is dismissed.
Here is edited your statement to what it should have been:
The 3DS XL is an upgrade to the 3DS for people who prefer a bigger system and larger screen (big hands, poor eyesight, etc).
Nintendo have made a great product.
FIXED
Have a nice day!
You should be able to import the UK version of the Pikachu one with no ill-effects. You could even switch it to AU region if you wanted. (for the eShop)
You sir have just made my day. That did not even cross my mind. My hat goes off to you! I will have to look and research for this device so i hopefully can import it (i hope the sellers let me buy international and send it here).
Finally a limited edition XL, planned on buying this ever since it was first announced. However, still waiting to find out which stores will be selling this.
Exactly, not one store (online and instore) have heard about this console. I asked a week ago about any packs for Christmas, they said no.
That was EB and JB. So where these consoles are being sold is a mystery to me. Just looked on their site, nothing there. And paper mario is in 2 weeks. I am sure they would have had it advertised to gain some pre-orders on the devices?!
*confused*
EB are definitely selling them. I have my Mario Kart White 3DS XL on order pretty much since it was announced. Although at the time they only had the Mario Kart bundle and not the Mario 3D Land. Should I stick with Mario Kart? Should I move it to the 3D Land? So many choices…should I buy both?
What, they are not listed on the Website
*pulls out hair*
Hope i did not miss out
Can you link pretty please 🙂
They are not on the site yet. I was in the Swanston St store late yesterday and they only had the MK one on their system. They did not have the 3D Land listed yet.
If I want to transfer the content from my current 3DS to this new 3DS XL, will I lose the pre-installed game?
I have also wondered the same thing.
Found this:
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/07/guide_3ds_xl_system_transfer
But has some info:
TAKEN FROM SITE:
When performing a transfer, the data on the target system will be overwritten with that of the source system. When the transfer completes, the System Memory of the source system will be formatted, deleting all data.
I assume it deletes all content on the XL. Which is a shame. They should provide the game on card, not dl.
HOWEVER
It might be a code that you get to claim the game, therefore do the transfer first then claim the code. Will have to suss this out when it get released.
Was stumped on this too before. Apparently eshop purchases merge together so they just need to be re downloaded. Read somewhere that someone was able to get ambassador games doing so.
Nintendo Australia’s site mentions it sort’ve.
http://www.nintendo.com.au/support/index.php?action=help&helpcatID=237
(Under Important Notice Regarding Downloadable Software)
Posted too early, needed to add this on but this was what I read that sort’ve confirmed it for me.
“All content downloaded via the eShop on both systems (DSiWare, Ambassador games and status, 3DS Downloadable software, etc) will be combined together onto the target system.”
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/3ds/en_na/gi_index.jsp?menu=transfer&submenu=ctr-gi-apps-transfer-what-data
From the US site but.. shouldn’t be any different?
Listen, the question he asked was… Does he loose the game which is “Pre-Installed”…
What you posted here is for games Purchased via eShop. However, if lets say Mario Kart 7 is pre-installed, how do we know that it will not delete it, it’s not like you purchased it on the eStore, so will not show up in your Download list to re-download, as it wasn’t purchased through the eStore!
Spewing. Wanted a white one. Should’ve held out.
