Rumour: Blockbuster lists apparent Wii U launch titles
It’s that magical time of year just short of a month out from E3 when those crazy and wild rumours begin to appear. Here’s one of them. The UK arm of Blockbuster has apparently stocked up its internal systems with 25 Wii U titles to preorder. The list is quite good and features many games we already knew and a few that we didn’t.
- Aliens: Colonial Marines
- Assassin’s Creed III
- Batman: Arkham City
- Darksiders II
- DiRT 3
- Formula 1 All Stars
- Game Party
- Ghost Recon Online
- Just Dance 4
- Killer Freaks from Outer Space
- Marvel Super Heroes
- Metro Last Light
- Monsters Party
- New Super Mario Bros. Mii
- Ninja Gaiden III
- Pikmin 3
- Rabbids Party Land
- Raving Rabbids
- Rayman Legends
- Shield Pose
- Splinter Cell 6
- Sports Connection
- Tekken
- Your Shape 2013
- Zombie
We really doubt that there will be two Rabbids games out there for launch, Shield Pose is as likely to hit as a retail game as Project Hammer was and any of the other games outside the ones we already know could just be good guesses. We doubt as well that the system would launch with 25 games from day one and we think some of them would be staggered over a couple weeks if not a couple of months. There’s also evidence on NeoGAF from ex-Blockbuster management that suggest, like EB Games, that the retailer just puts these games up to drum up preorders.
Four weeks people! Then you’ll only have another 5 or 6 months to speculate with whatever we get out of E3.
4 WEEKS AAAAH!!
Tekken at launch… heck yesss!
Also I’m interested to see what Zombie is ??
Yes, Shield Pose!! I’d pay full retail for that!!
I’d say maybe 2 or 3 games interest me on that list (Mario Bros, Pikmin, maybe Rayman).
None of the other games interest me.
If this list is true, then I’ll seriously consider delaying getting myself a Wii U – perhaps until a more interesting game comes out.
Placeholder surely.
Most of it shovelware as per usual. Given Nintendo’s history I highly doubt an original Mario as a launch title.
Lots of them are rubbish, but there is some big name titles there.
Shouldn’t we be smarter than believing this? There won’t EVER be a game called New Super Mario Bros. Mii… This is just like GAME having Zelda Wii U available pre order like 2 days after e3 last year!
You’ve got a good point zinger, but at the same time some of these lists are usually comprised of true titles but also watered down with a few that are obviously fake. I would not dismiss this WHOLE LIST as fake, but I would look at some of the entries as a bit suspicious.
