Nintendo’s first smartphone game will be the free to play Miitomo, the game was due at the end 2015 but has been delayed until March 2016.

The game will let everyone’s Mii communicate with your Miis without your knowledge. It is designed to help people who are shy talk to new people and revealed a side of your friends you never knew. Nintendo says that “Miitomo, Nintendo’s first smart device title, is a free-to-start communication application that helps friends share fun personal facts and interests. Consumers create and use their own Mii characters to engage friends in a welcoming social environment, answering questions and sharing information to discover more about each other and what they have in common”.

Nintendo is waiting until after the year-end busy period to talk about the game more. It has been delayed to fully promote and explain the game more fully.

Nintendo also announced that all five smartphone games they currently have planned with DeNA will be released by March 2017. If all of the games are successful they can become an additional pillar to the company. Nintendo also “will consider any and all Nintendo IP as candidates for future apps, as previously announced”.

Miitomo will be the first game to make use of Nintendo’s new membership service My Nintendo, which you can read about here.
