Nintendo details plans for E3 2017, Spotlight event, Treehouse Live and Tournaments
Nintendo of America has announced its plan for E3 2017 it looks like the focus will main be on the Switch games releasing in 2017.
There will also be a return of the Nintendo Treehouse and live tournaments for Splatoon 2 and ARMS, both of which will be at the Nintendo Booth.
The ‘main’ part of E3, which in previous years has been called the ‘Digital Event’ is now called the Nintendo Spotlight. It will take place on Wednesday, June 14th at 2 am AEST in Australia. Nintendo says it’ll focus on Switch and 3DS games for release in 2017, specifically mentioning Super Mario Odyssey.
Next up the return of the Nintendo Treehouse Live. It’ll start immediately after the Nintendo Spotlight and feature the Treehouse team and other Nintendo staff members playing through the games just announced.
There’s also a huge focus on competitive gaming with the 2017 Splatoon 2 World Inkling Invitational and the 2017 ARMS Open Invitational to take place live from the Nintendo E3 Booth.

“Super mama rip Galaxy will be there”.
VC confirmed? Or accidentle game slip up ?
Oh wow.. apologies… I dunno how my stupid phone made that screw up.
See how easy it is 😛
i see the rest of 2017 as arms june / splatoon july/ mario november with skyrim and xenoblade to fill the gap btw splat and mario – which is a pretty good lineup to pimp – but i hope there’s a few announcements too
A new metroid game?
They’ve got their tentpole games for the rest of 2017, Mario O would probably be their killer app anyway, but it would be nice to see some left-field reveals, or even do a Sony and show us a few 2018 games hehe. I’m more interested to see if third party games rock up to the switch ie Assassins Creed etc
Well I feel a tad disappointed maybe but it’s good to know this will likely (bar surprise announcements?!) just be 2017 stuff NOW then get my hopes up for another month 😛
Looking forward to the lineup we know of for 2017 anyway – espeeeeeecially Mario.
