New Nintendo Direct tomorrow, no Wii U information to be revealed
Nintendo Japan has just announced via Twitter that there will be a Nintendo Direct broadcast tomorrow the 29th of August at 8pm Japan local time.
That’s 7pm for Perth, 9pm for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. For everyone else in the world here’s the times you’ll need.
Before you ask, there will be no Wii U information made available during this edition of Nintendo Direct. Nintendo does say that we can expect a look at the line up for the Wii and 3DS for the coming months. Expect that to just slightly more favored in the 3DS department.
Regarding Wii U information Iwata warns that “As a precaution, we do not plan to deliver information tomorrow about the Wii U”. He does say we should visit and watch the Ustream with a smile.
Now that’s just trolling.

Two things. 1, the 3DS is pretty much strangling everything as far as Nintendo is concerned. They want to keep showing people it’s not peaking any time soon.
Secondly, there’s already a date set for ‘stuff’ on Wii U isn’t there?
What do you mean by “strangling everything”?
I think he means it’s doing very well in Japan, and pretty much dominating the market there.
In Japan it is yes, we can’t begrudge Nintendo wanting to show off more more 3DS stuff.
There’s a date for US Wii U stuff. That’s it.
They also might as well keep 3DS in the limelight for as long as possible. We might be urgent for Wii U information but they can certainly wait a little longer on it without hurting any potential for the machine.
Watching now O.O
