Miyamoto wants to do more with Wii Music

Wii Music has always been Miyamoto’s baby, so when it didn’t sell too much and was panned by most of the Internet, it’s safe to say he was disappointed with the way it all turned out. This isn’t the first time he’s spoken about doing more with the game and in a new interview has expressed an even more desire to do something with the idea.

Speaking to El Mundo, a Spanish newspaper, he’s said that “It is always sad that something is not sold as well as expected. I think these negative experiences on a project is a thorn that is stuck, so we usually try to work the best idea or at least take it up and concretize it from an angle different for use in another title.”

When asked if this was Wii Music, he added with a laugh, “Yes, I want to do more with that idea.”

Anyone for more Wii Music then?

Dunno if you’re gonna read this VOOK, but you’re one of the few who played Wii Music, and back then I remember you weren’t as ready to jump on it and hate as much as the general media were.

I wonder how many people who bring up Wii Music as a bad game actually played it.

I found it an very entertaining demo when I first played it at E3 2006. Back then it wasn’t even Wii Music. However the final game while fun and entertaining in parts never amounted to anything other than waving the Wii Remote around as a party toy to make music.

I don’t hate the game, I can see why some people have a problem with it and I can agree on some points, but it could have been a lot more and the music choices in it could have been more varied.

I loved the orchestra mode, especially with the Zelda music theme song. When Miyamoto came out playing the Zelda theme on the Wii Remote at E3 2006, it was magical. I got goosebumps. It could have just been because I was in the Kodak Theatre though.

Most people who bag anything to do with the Wii and Wii Music have never played it outside Wii Sports. If that.

I rented wii music and played it briefly, and had a bit of shortlived fun with it. I think there is some potential for a much better sequel so I would like to see it happen.

Ive never played it, but it seems like the kind of game better suited to cheaper digital distribution, not a full price game.
