Gold Rush: Mario – Gold Edition arrives at Target tomorrow
Alongside Yoshi’s Wooly World*, the Gold Edition Mario amiibo arrives in Target stores and online exclusively tomorrow (June 25th).
This is just a quick guide so hopefully anyone who wants one can get one and not get trampled. Target stores around the country will open from their standard opening times tomorrow, check the website to see when yours opens.
As we know there’s no pre-orders, there’s one per customer and there’s a limited amount. We’ve been told by sources that any stores attempting ‘hold’ one for someone or even staff take one for themselves has not been allowed. Each store will have a different setup for purchasing and you’re best to check with your store as to what to do when you get there in the morning.
So how many per store, which store should you go to? Earlier this week a Target employee posted numbers on Reddit for each store – we believe these numbers to be correct – however since these numbers are now public things may have changed.
Online orders are different and we’re expecting sales to be online from 8am AEST tomorrow morning, again on the website there will be one per customer.
Good luck.
*Yeah a Nintendo game back on a Thursday
Is this only for Europe and Australia? Because Yoshi’s Woolly World for them releases June 25 (Australia) and June 26 (Europe), while it doesn’t release in Japan until July 16, and we in America don’t get it until October 16.
This is only for Australian (and New Zealand I guess!)
Damn it. I had one in my basket and by the time I logged into target it was gone 🙁
Good old Target. Released online prior to their pre-announced release time, and apparently there weren’t cart limits online… Subsequently sold out by the time many who logged on at the time they stated got them in the cart.
I went on to Target’s website at 7:55 and opened up a few tabs. Refreshed for fifteen minutes, saw nothing of it becoming available to add to a cart once. Opened up another tab to look at Target’s Facebook page and it was filled with people saying they had it in their cart and then it disappeared. Then it became apparent they had made it available online even earlier than when I first looked. I was worried about it going to Target in the first place…
I went in store and got it this morning in Victoria. I woke up early enough that I had time for breakfast before going to queue up. My store had 100 Gold Marios and there were more than enough to fill the quota of customers outside.
I was thinking about buying online but glad I didn’t as I see a lot of disappointed fans not able to get one.
Got myself one, as did my wife (different store). Pakenham didn’t have many, probably 20 that I could see.
So, I now have two in posession… I wonder if they show up as gold on SSB?
