If you’re picking up the digital version of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U later this week or just want one, you can now order the GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U directly from Nintendo Australia.
The accessory will set you back $29.95 with free shipping within Australia, New Zealand you’ll have to pony up some more postage.
At $30 separately this makes the eShop purchase of the game pretty expensive if you want the want the adapter. It’s the full retail price of $79.95 plus this $29.95 for a total of $109.90. If you buy the game physically on Friday you can get the game and the adapter for $89.85 at most places.
Contact Nintendo Australia here to get one.

Just wondering, when it says ‘you can get the game and the adapter for $89.85 at most places.’, is that the bundle? Or is that the game + the adapter seperately for $89.95 total? i.e. $69.95 for the game (JB Hi-Fi’s price) & about $20 for the adapter?
I ask because I’m planning to go digital so I always have Smash ready to go. I’ve already given myself a ‘discount’ on the digital version by topping up my E-shop funds with cards bought during EB’s 20% off sale. (Not to mention Digital Deluxe points earned!)
So if I can get the adapter seperately for $20, I’ll wait. But I’ve been trying to confirm if this is being sold seperately outside the bundle like it is in America. If not, I might have to bite the bullet and order from Nintendo.
Any idea on how long this takes to deliver?
I’ve just ordered mine.
Couple of days in the east, still waiting on mine here in Perth.
Hey, I’m thinking about buying from them like you, but I was wondering whether they ask for your credit card over the phone or do they direct you to website for those details?
Over the phone, only takes a couple of minutes.
most places my ass both jb and eb games don’t have the adapter bundle listed!
Because 10 days ago when we told you to order one they did…
