Aussie Bargain Roundup – Pokkén Tournament
After seemingly being teased YEARS ago, it’s finally here – Pokkén Tournament!
The Bandai Namco developed Pokemon fighter, is actually that – a fighter. No turned based, no slow text to wade through. We’ll have our review up of it soon – but before we get there let’s find us a bargain.
Being on these ‘special’ games Nintendo has deemed to make $10 more than others the price is all around higher than usual games but around the stores they’re all pretty fair. Big W and Target are neck and neck this time around with $74 each, only OzGameShop is cheaper – but you’d have to wait for that.
We should also point out that only the first print run of the game comes with the Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, when this batch sells out – that’s it no more card.
Time Sensitive Bargain – Expires March 16th
Until March 16th Big W have 10% off, $30 eShop cards – If you were to go pick up one of those before the close off you could apply it to your eShop account and get 10% off Pokkén when it releases on Friday. It would bring the price down to $80.95, Not insanely cheap, but Pokkén may be one of those games that stays on your console for a while.

We all need a laugh sometimes.
Big W also has 10% their giftcards when you load $100 or more (maximum $500 per card loaded from OzBargsin users comments).
Not only could you pay $10% off the game by buying a BIg W giftcard first and using the giftcard for the game, you can stack the 10% off the Big W giftcard you purchased with a $30 eShop card for 10% off that as well. I posted this on Vooks Thursday morning.
Looks like I’ll be price matching with EB games for 74 bucks…wishing that it would hit that sweet 68 dollar mark that most first party nintendo titles hit in the first week of sale. But hey, let’s be thankful this is a wider release for a Wii U title in 2016!
$66.60 in effect with Big W giftcard purchase but no EB carrots ;p
Is Shadow Mewtwo only available with the amiibo card, or can you unlock him/it through actual gameplay?
You can unlock him normally through gameplay. Even with the card, you have to use it every time you turn it on until you unlock him normally.
