Aliens: Colonial Marines to look best on Wii U
Speaking to Gamespot, developer Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford has reaffirmed his view that the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines will be the best looking version of the game. He then went a step further, claiming it has options that aren’t possible on other consoles.
So while the Wii U version will be the same game, Gearbox are able to provide Nintendo gamers some extra features that won’t be available to those playing on other platforms. “…if you love the 360 you’re fine, you’re going to get the same game experience”, Pitchford says but was quick to note some of the extra features the Wii U tablet will provide, “…[It] gives us some interface options that are just not possible on other platforms…maybe I’m in one of those suspenseful sections…and I look down and its a motion tracker in my hand, the actual controller.” In addition to this he mentioned you can use the controller to scan the room by moving it around, utilising its motion control.
He also stated the following on competitive play: “I’ll tell you what’s kinda cool too. When I’m playing competitively, sometimes I like to look at the score when I’m playing but I hate having to cover the screen with an overlay. Well guess what? I can look down at the Wii U screen and if I want to keep the score there or whatever and just have a glance I can keep it down there and not have to worry about overlays or anything like that, and that’s kinda neat.”
A new trailer was released for the game as well, and it is looking like a very well-polished title. Check it out below! Expect to hear more regarding Aliens: Colonial Marines at Nintendo’s E3 Conference, Tuesday June 5th.
Nice to hear, but there’s a ton of stuff elsewhere today about this version of the game being a no-show at E3?
Did a little research.
Seems it won’t be PLAYABLE at E3, but nothing suggests it won’t at least make an appearance.
The rumours going around are that there won’t be a show floor version (ie not playable at E3). I’d wager ever if this were true, it’ll be there in a conference trailer or trailers distributed by Gearbox.
Also something I noticed, even though a Wii U version was confirmed last E3, they still don’t put the Wii U logo in trailers. Bodes well for any trailers of recent third party games without the Wii U logo.
Pretty sure Nintendo has a whole ‘thou shall not put Wii U logo on anything’ yet.
I want this game on Wii U, but the online community has to be be large enough to cater multiplayer… C’mon people don’t make me have to get it on XBOX!
I very much dislike first person shooters. Totally not interested at all.
