Aussie Bargain Roundup: Star Fox Zero & Star Fox Guard

Star Fox Zero has had an tumultuous journey on its way to release. From it’s initial and wonky showing to the latest trailers and impressions we’ve all been waiting to see how the game will truly turn out. It’s a Platinum Games developed Star Fox, should we even doubt it?
That point however is for another story, you’re here bargains and unlike some games as of late there’s actually quite a few different ways to buy the game, save money on the game both digitally and physically. First off, there are two different versions of the game at retail – the First Print Edition and the standalone ‘solus’ version of the game. You’ll see the game in some catalogues for really cheap, it’s probably for that stand alone version.
The First Print Edition contains the following;
- Star Fox Zero (disc)
- Star Fox Guard (disc)
- Steelbook Case
See the graphic to the right for a good look at it.
If you’re not picking up the First Print Edition then you’re just getting the Star Fox Zero game by itself. So if you want a disc version of Starfox Guard, the first print edition is the only way to do it and of course its – ‘Available while stocks last’.
If you’re just keen on Star Fox Zero, well that’s where the big savings are.

Is Target stocking the First Print Edition confirmed or pure speculation (by Vooks) ? Seriously?
Wow. If Target won’t stock the first print then I’ll have to pay full price for another limited edition haha, but unlike hyrule warriors legends:le, I’m keen to get that physical copy of guard. Roll on!
Target – Link soon?
Is vooks net waiting for the Target catalogue and hope the First Print Edition will be there? It would be more appropriate to post “Awaiting information” rather than gets peoples hopes up.
Cheapest option seems to be buying both digitally. or cheap Zero by itself and then Guard digitally.
Yeah.. if I can get the main game by itself for $64, getting the First Print Edition means I’m paying $38 for Project Guard and a tin container. Do I want to pay almost $40 for that game? Unlikely.
Thanks for the update, Vooks. I’ll be reconsidering my pre-order type now.
Easier to sell a physical copy (of Project Guard) than a digital one. Project Guard will end up a collectible as well.
Yeah.. I have heaps of stuff to sell. It takes time and effort and even then it will be difficult to sell for $40. Everyone else will have that same idea.
True. But most people buying the First Print edition will probably have no intention of selling the Star Fox Guard since they would consider it a collectible.
$35 for Project Guard, rather.
Can I just point at that if you release two editions of a game at the same time, then you cannot differentiate them by declaring one of them a “first print”.
Did ebgames have a pre order bonus? I thought I remember seeing something but no mention on the site now.
Not that we can recall – maybe super early on?
Is it true that the cheaper edition has a code for Guard?
nope.
It has an icon on the game menu screen that links you to the eshop, where you can download a special demo of star fox guard.
