E3 2014: Zelda for Wii U is Vast and Open-World
We were all expecting it to be shown and we’ve finally had our first glimpse. The new Zelda game for Wii U will live up to promises made by Aonuma earlier in the year and will challenge the conventions set in place by previous Zelda games.
While we didn’t get to see a lot, Aonuma did show us what the game’s overworld will look like.
As you can see, there’s a very wide variety of types of geometry to explore, and Aonuma even said if you walked for long enough that you’ll be able to climb the mountains in the distance.
While we didn’t get a title or anything like that, we did see an action packed sequence where Link fights off an enemy with a new and improved technologically endowed bow.
The new Zelda game is coming to Wii U exclusively sometime in 2015. When we have footage of the game, we’ll be sure to update you here.
Sounds pretty darn amazing. Can’t wait for it! Hope it won’t require the gamepad, instead making it optional.
It will require the gamepad and it will finally make the gamepad relevant, kinda like how Skyward Sword finally showed the possibilities of the Wiimote.
