Number 492 in the National Pokédex, Shaymin, is now available through special distribution until November 8. Shaymin was first available via special distribution to Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version and this is your opportunity to nab it for Platinum!
To get it, you’ll have to obtain Oak’s Letter via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, get the National Pokédex in your game and head to a place in Victory Road you couldn’t access before. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to do all this, just because we’re nice.
GETTING OAK’S LETTER
1. Talk to the TV Producer on the third floor of the Jubilife TV building in Jubilife City.
2. Answer his questions with these words: Opinion on TV—Everyone Happy, Feedback on TV—Wi-Fi Connection. Then save the game and restart your Nintendo DS system.
3. If “MYSTERY GIFT” appears on the Start Menu, you’ve succeeded! Select “MYSTERY GIFT” to get started.
4. Select “RECEIVE GIFT”.
5. Select “GET VIA NINTENDO WFC” and choose “YES”. Watch as you receive Oak’s Letter!
6. Go to any Poké Mart and talk to the deliveryman in green standing in front of the counter. He will give you Oak’s Letter.
7. Check your Key Items Pocket and you’ll see that Oak’s Letter is there. Save your game!
