E3 2013: Yoshi’s New Island is the new name for Yoshi on 3DS

Nintendo has just opened their E3 2013 press site and in it revealed the new name for the Yoshi’s Island title on the 3Ds.

Yoshi’s New Island is a 2014 title that will keep the trademark Yoshi’s Island moves and abilities but there’s also new ones on the cards. The 3DS system’s gyro can be used for the new binoculars and move the system to uncover hidden items.

    Hmm… all of the action entirely on the top screen -_-

    The immersion of the DS version, with booths screens in use and minimal/no HUD was part of what made it so special!

    The only issue I really had with the DS version was that the screen was quite jarring (the gap between the screen, rather) so I am kind of happy they’ve kept it this way.

    I guess they could’ve done it that way – but a more vertically designed Yoshi’s Island probably wouldn’t be as good as the original.

    But yeah, that’s just how I feel.
