Yoshi’s first Switch game has been delayed into 2019

Flipped into another year

At last year’s E3, a brand new Yoshi game for the Nintendo Switch was revealed, and scheduled to be released in 2018. Turns out we might be waiting a little longer than expected.

The release date for the yet-untitled Yoshi game was quietly changed on its US eShop page, and Nintendo confirmed to Game Informer that the title had indeed been pushed back to 2019. Given it’s been a year since we heard anything about the game, and that it didn’t show up during Nintendo’s E3 conference, this is hardly surprising, but it’s still disappointing for fans of the adorable green dinosaur.

Nintendo of America’s product marketing manager Bill Trinen, however, did say in a statement to Kotaku that we’ll be hearing more about the game “later this year,” so not all hope is lost. At least we’ll still see the little guy in Mario Tennis Aces, Super Mario Party, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
