Yoku’s Island Express blends metroidvania and pinball, coming to Switch
The indie titles just keep on pouring in with developers Swedish developers Villa Gorilla announcing Yoku’s Island Express.
The game as crazy as it sounds a open world, metroidvania pinball adventure. Now that’s a genre we’ve never heard of before. The game will blending platforming and pinball mechanics in a large open world.
Yoku the dung beetle sets foot on the beach of Mokumana Island, ready to take on the duties as the new postman. But the ancient island God is trapped in a restless sleep and the islanders are plagued by quakes and storms brought forth by its nightmares.
The game is still a while away, but will be released on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam. The developers, Villa Gorilla are made up of ex-Starbreeze developers and have worked on games like The Darkness and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault of Dark Athena.
