With only weeks to go until the release of the Wii U, various gaming websites have begun posting photos and video footage of the console, its accessories, and launch title software.

The majority of content being uploaded is filled with the usual Nintendo goodness, but one photo in particular has received a little bit more love and attention than the rest.

Originally released in English by the team over at 1UP, the photo displays the New Super Mario Bros. U instruction manual opened on the world map page, showing off all of the game’s locations.

As can be seen, some of the areas included are Acorn Plains, Frosted Glacier, Peach’s Castle, Sparkling Waters and Layer-Cake Desert.

Other outlets such as Kotaku have followed on by releasing video footage of the game’s entire world map. Although they were only allowed to record 30 seconds of footage at a time due to pre-release restrictions, the site still managed to capture the entire map in its full glory, noting the design and feel of it was reminiscent of Super Mario World.

On another note, it’s great to see Nintendo isn’t completely out of the manual printing business just yet.

I’ve been writing about video games since 2006 and playing them since I was a kid. I started out with a copy of Mario & Yoshi on the Game Boy and before I knew it was in debt to Tom Nook. These days I spend much of my time trawling the eShop for the latest downloadable hit.
