The standalone sequel to Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is coming to the Switch. Wolfenstein Youngblood takes place 19 years after that game and is set in the 1980s.
The game will be a cheaper release, with a Standard Edition price of just $US39.99, we’ll have to wait until morning to find out what we’ll be paying for it. There’s some good news and bad news here though, the bad news? The Standard Edition of the game will be digital only in Australia, New Zealand and all across Europe. The good news is that it appears the Deluxe Edition will be available physically – and you might want to get that one anyway.
The Deluxe Edition comes with the “Buddy Pass”, this will allow you to invite a friend who hasn’t bought the game to play through with you for free. You can use the Buddy Pass on as many different friends as you want, but you can only play with one at a time. This Deluxe Edition is only $10US more.
Buddy Pass players will progress normally and can experience the entire game while they are playing co-op alongside you. Buddy Pass players can upgrade at any time to play the game solo, or join co-op games with other players.
Wolfenstein Youngblood focuses on B J. Blazkowicz’s twin daughters as they go searching for him after the events of the last game. The game will is playable both by yourself or co-operatively.
The game is out on July 26th on all consoles. The Nintendo Switch version of the game is being developed by Panic Button.
