WiiWare information surfaces, no demos planned
While know about the release date for WiiWare some more questions have been on many a Nintendo fans mind since the service was first announced. In a new interview, Nintendo has revealed some more facts about the service this time pertaining to why they chose a certain size limit on games, the pricing structure for WiiWare titles and the big question about demos for Wii Ware games. More inside.
Nintendo says that it is encouraging developers of Wii Ware to make games that are more compact. While with a retail game you have plenty of space, the nature of Wii Ware being downloadable (and the lack of space of the Wii, although Nintendo didnt say that) and its also more cost effective. Speaking of cost, Wii Ware, like its Virtual console cousin will be sold for Wii points. The price for games will vary but still no exact prices have been revealed.
Nintendo is also going to be less restrictive on WiiWare titles. It says that despite the fact that you have to download the games, they dont have to have online or Wii Connect 24 features. Nintendo says allowing the developer to have this freedom will better allow developers to express their vision. This vision also means that Wii Ware games will not be having demos; instead Nintendo will provide information on games through the Everybodys Nintendo Channel. This again confirms the channel for at least America as that statement comes from Golin Harris Nintendo of America PR agency.
