WiiWare demos on the way
Nintendo has announced that theyll begin testing WiiWare demos for possible implementation in the future
In what seems like a, well, ‘we told you to do that’ moment, Satoru Iwata has revealed in an Q&A session at a recent earnings briefing that Nintendo will begin a test program for WiiWare demos this month. The test will allow you to download demos on a few WiiWare titles and Nintendo will gauge if this helps more people get onto the Wii Shop Channel. Iwata says the Wii and DSi Shops currently have a small market and people mostly only visit to get titles they know about already.
Iwata doesn’t feel this will be the be-all-end-all solution for getting more WiiWare games sold, but demos have been one of the most requested things about the WiiWare service behind a storage solution, a problem Nintendo how has fixed.
Iwata didn’t mention exactly how the demos would work (time restrections or something else) but more information will be released soon. These demos are most likely to be for Japan only at this stage.
So what do you say? Would you get more WiiWare titles if you could sample them first?
