Porting of the platform adventure was no simple endeavour, with the entire suite of 2D sprites and environments being completely replaced with new art, making Nicalis’ WiiWare port the definitive version to own. In an interview by IGN with Nicalis’ Tyrone Rodriguez stated that “The artwork is done, the music is just about done. We’re really aiming to get it done this summer and that’s our goal.” The WiiWare version will include future episodic DLC content that fleshes out the original story.
But will the new content justify a purchase for what is already essentially a free game? Rodriguez clarified that “We’ve been listening to fans. They’ve been asking for new weapons, they’ve been asking for new characters, and that’s something we’ve really been taking into consideration to make sure that the DLC infrastructure is there for the future.”
