Wiis to get pre-loaded shortcuts to downloadable channels
Nintendo will continue its push to promote its online services in 2010 by helping new Wii owners to download additional channels
The launch of the Wii Connection Ambassador Promotion has seen loyal Nintendo fans encourage friends and family to get connected to the Internet with their Wii. To help new adopters make the most out of their online-enabled consoles, Nintendo will be pre-loading new Wii consoles with a shortcut channel that provides details about the Everybody Votes Channel and the ability to go directly to the Wii Shop Channel to download it.
Wii consoles with the new shortcut will begin appearing on shelves in early 2010. With more and more people becoming aware of the online capabilities of the Wii, as well as the fantastic software available from the Wii Shop Channel, hopefully this becomes reason for Nintendo to roll out some new channels and maybe even some new online services. Is that too much to ask?
