Nintendo confirms the rumours – therell be a new Wii at E3 this year
With all the rumours floating around, we can finally put to rest at least one of them. The Wii’s successor is real, it will be shown off at E3 this year and will be released in 2012.
Nintendo has issued a brief press release (much like it did with the 3DS) stating its intentions. It says there will be a playable model at the show and they’ll announce more specifications at the show which is to be held from June 7th to 9th.
Nintendo has also announced that the Wii has reached 86 million shippings as of the end of March 2011.
Project Cafe rumours have also been further cemented with the system’s name coming up on the Nintendo developer support site; you can see the picture above. Unfortunately, they’re just pictures of coffee.
