Lately, Konami have been quite vocal about their newest addition to the Silent Hill franchise and this week is no exception. The developers have announced that the reincarnation of the original Silent Hill, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, will be released initially on the Wii. Fans waiting to play the PlayStation 2 and PSP versions will have to hold out for a little longer.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has been described as not so much a remake of the original, but a reimagining. Offering such additions as improved puzzles and graphical interface and framework, players will be able to take the protagonist, Harry Mason, on a new adventure. Although slightly different, the plot is said to retain key points and similarities to the original.
The Wii version is slated for a December 9th release in North America and an early 2010 release in Europe (which will most likely coincide with the as-of-yet announced Australian release).
