Wii U Pro Controller Battery Life Revealed
We all know that the Wii U Gamepad lasts between 3-5 hours on a single charge, but until now we’ve had very little information on the Wii U Pro Controller and how long it will last.
Recently, the online listing for the Wii U Pro Controller on Gamestop.com in the US (our equivalent of EB Games), has been updated with a surprising piece of information regarding the battery life.
“Designed for accessibility and extended gameplay comfort, the Wii U Pro Controller features the dual analog sticks and ergonomic button layout that you’ve come to expect, as well as a rechargeable battery that can last up to 80 hours on a single charge.”
By comparison, the 360 controller with a full charged battery from the Play and Charge kit lasts 25-30 hours. 80 hours is a significant amount of time and we’re looking forward to getting our hands on one to test out the battery life for ourselves.
The Pro Controller won’t work with Wii titles however, so if you’ll have to hold onto you Classic Controller Pro’s for that.
Wow, that is very surprising if true. I can’t see the battery lasting that long though. Maybe in standby (eg. if it’s turned on but isn’t actually being used) but seems a bit of wishful thinking.
80 hours seems right if there is no vibration function. Personally I usually switch off all vibration on my devices any way just doesn’t add anything these days. I may have picked up this habit thanks to the original Ps3 controllers and their lack of said function.
That said I could be completely wrong about it, either way I hope this information turns out to be true.
