Wii U GamePad Wireless Range Better Than Expected
Ever since the Wii U was announced and the GamePad along with it, people have pondered. Just how far away will I be able to use my GamePad?
Nintendo’s been pretty straightforward with people saying that it’s really only going to work in the same room as the console, but, that depending on your house it might work further. Nintendo’s maximum range is quoted at just under 8 metres, but it appears the US media is getting it to go further than that.
It comes down to just how many other wireless and radio frequencies are around you when you play. In the a city centre people are likely to have less of a range because of all the other devices competing for the wireless spectrum the Wii U uses.
Nintendo’s not wrong to be conservative about the range though, if you find when you take your Wii U home from the store and it works more than Nintendo says then you’re in luck.

Console gaming on the toilet. The stuff dreams are made of! TT_TT
That’s great, good range. I still remember how close I had to be to the TV playing with our totally awesome orange Gamecube controller. So this added range is great. Speaking of Camecube I wanta be able to play downloadable Gamecube games on my Wii U gamepad…might happen.
