Wii U details for Japan won’t be announced at a September Nintendo Conference

Expecting a conference? Think again.

We knew Nintendo wouldn’t announce any Japanese Wii U details during last night’s Nintendo Direct. They told us so prior to the broadcast to avoid disappointment.

So then, what about Nintendo’s annual conference they hold every year in September? Surely that would be the right place to do it?

Apparently not.

Satoru Iwata has made a statement via Twitter saying that we can expect something different for the Wii U details.
There are more than a few people who are thinking, ‘There will be a Nintendo Conference in September.’ I want to tell you in advance that the announcement of the Wii U in Japan is planned in a way not involving the Conference.”
So the Nintendo conference in September could go ahead, but the Wii U details we all are craving will be delivered via another means.

Starting brain storming people, just what’s Nintendo up to?

Thanks to @Cheesemeister3k on Twitter for the translation of the tweet.
