Anecdotal evidence of the last few weeks has suggested that the Wii was facing supply issues here in Australia, as it is in the rest of the world. But now a new report suggests that the Wii is in short supply and once stores run out, there will not be any more shipments to Australia until next year. Nintendo Australias PR rep Heather Murphy has said to News.com.au that the Wii and even the Nintendo have become victims of their own success. More inside “”We’re continually putting more and more Wii systems into the pipeline, but they all sell through almost instantly,”” says Murphy. “”Throughout 2007, both Nintendo DS and Wii’s popularity have grown exponentially,”” she added. Also in the article, they suggested that many people were snapping up as many units as possible to sell at inflated prices online. With only just a week to Christmas now, if you havent got a Wii yet and you are planning on getting one for someone or yourself, it might just be a good time to do it.

Whats going in your area- are Wii and DSs hard to find? Perhaps you havent been able to find yourself one? Tell us in the forums.
