While last month the Playstation 3 Slim topped the charts, the Wiis price drop had only just come into effect and this month we see what effect that has had. The Wii has topped this months NPD with 506.9k units sold in North America. In second spot, a spot its not used to, is the DS on 457.6k – we cant imagine itll sit there long. The PS3 did manage to remain well in front of the Xbox 360, however. As for the PSP Go? Gone, it seems.
Nintendo says that the Nintendo DS is now nearly at 34 million units sold in the United States and this year will surpass the all-time single-year hardware sales record for most consoles sold.
On the software side of things the brilliant Uncharted 2 took the top spot, with just over half a million copies sold. Not far behind was Wii Fit Plus on 441,000 copies sold. The only other Nintendo games in the list were Wii Sports Resort in 4th position and Kingdom Hears 358/2 Days on the DS in 9th position.
Guess all those Wii doomsayers will be eating some crow again, maybe.
