Wii pricecut seems imminent in US

Nintendos home console appears to be headed for a price reduction of US$50 as soon as September 27

Shortly after Nintendos recent comments about having no plans for a Wii price cut, all evidence is now pointing to one being made late this month. About a week ago, a leak of a Walmart ad in the US suggested a cut in the first week of October, but now another early picture of an ad, this time from from Toys R Us, gives us a slightly earlier date and, more importantly, some numbers on the cut.

According to the ad, the Wii will be dropping its US price from $250 to $200, which starts on the week following September 27. The normal bundle (Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and Wii Sports) still seems intact.

Nintendo appears to have a perfect time lined up to announce this, as theyre attending the Kyoto Cross Media Experience 2009 from September 26 till October 4. For now, all Nintendo has to say is, "Nintendo does not comment on rumors [sic] and speculation."

The Wii has been discounted here in Australia for a while, with most retailers masking it with a bundle. How much do you think the Wii will drop in Australia, if the price drop is indeed true?
