We knew it was coming, and now, for Americans and Europeans at least, there is a Wii price drop and SKU reshuffle on the way. Out goes the Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort pack-in, to be replaced by Mario Kart Wii for the new low prices of US$149 and £129. The price drop in the US is well overdue, and in fact it’s the first price drop for the console in the UK since launch.
The US price drop takes effect from May 15th and the European price drop takes effect from the 20th. On the same day in both regions will be the release of the ’Nintendo Selects’ budget range of games. The US gets The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers and Wii Sports. Yeah, Wii Sports, crazy talk!
European bargain hunters will be able to chose from Wii Sports, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Mario Strikers Charged Football and Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City. The games will be available for the low, low price of US$19 and £19 in their respective regions.
Can we expect similar price drops and the ’Nintendo Selects’ range here in Australia? We can only hope, and wait.
Fatal Fury 2, Super Ninja Boy, Sutte Hakkun
Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles, ENDER MAGNOLIA, Guilty Gear -Strive-, Dance of Cards,…

Definitively done with the Wii U now.
