Tomorrow, the Wii will receive a price drop of $100 here in Australia and New Zealand, bringing the price down to $299AU and $499NZ. This is the first time the Wii has received a price drop since its launch in December 2006 and closely mimics the drop the US received late last year.
Both the Black and White colours are now at the lower price point. With the Xbox 360 Elite dropping to the $399 price point (with games), it had to come eventually.
Nintendo’s press release now tells us that there are 1.79 million Wii consoles out there in Australia. That’s 10 times more Wii’s than GameCubes that were ever sold.
Definitively done with the Wii U now.
