E3 2013: Wii Party U still coming, but release delayed

In tonight’s E3 Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Wii Party U will be coming to the Wii U, however the release has been delayed.

The game will feature traditional board game style play, much like older Mario Party games. As well as this it also includes table-top mini games in which multiple players use the one GamePad to play a game on it’s screen.

Wii Party U will feature at least 80 mini games that will be seen in the board game mode, as well as other modes of play.

Wii Party U was originally set for release during Winter, however now has been pushed back to Summer, which could mean late 2013, or early 2014.

I bet those people who couldn’t adapt to MP9’s style will be happy. It was a nice change, although perhaps they should have had both that style and the traditional gameplay.

I quite liked Mario Party 9’s style. Going back and playing an older Mario Party recently really pointed out to me how well 9 streamlined the whole process. That said, I’m sure this could be a lot of fun too!
