The Wii is continuing to rocket off the shelves here in Australia as it has been revealed that it has now reached 251,101 units sold in Australia alone since its launch just over a year ago. The last reported figure for the Wii was in November with its record breaking 200,000. Nintendo Australia was nice enough to confirm that figure for us. This now puts the Wii even closer to the Xbox 360 which was just announced to have sold 300,000 in Australian and New Zealand since its launch. The Wii has now sold 83% of what the Xbox 360 has sold in one year on the market compared to the 360s near two years. No PS3 figures have been made public for comparison. Great news for Nintendo so close to Christmas.
