Get your friends to connect their Wii systems to the internet and both of you will be rewarded!

The Wii Shop Channel update today that brought in the Internet Channel refund also has another feature included. The Connection Ambassador system has arrived here, which is Nintendo’s effort to encourage Wii online connections.

How does it work? Well, it is a two way system. First, you need to help someone get connected. Once they are connected, you direct them to the Shop Channel, where they enter your Wii number. You do the same with their number on your Wii in the Shop Channel, and hopefully very soon you will both receive 500 points to use on whatever you like!

But wait, there’s more. If you manage to get 10 people connected, you to all first party NES games on the Virtual console. However, the big rewards come at 20 people having been helped, where you get access to every NES, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64 game available on the service!

Just wait a moment before you start adding everyone you’ve ’helped’, though, as it will only work if they have first connected with their Wii in the last 30 days. So make sure you hurry if you have helped someone just recently!
