European gaming site Eurogamer has received word from Nintendo UK that the Wii’s region lock will extend to not only GameCube games, but also Virtual Console games. While this is a non issue for the GameCube games as the Freeloader is wideley available, it does mean that you will only be able to purchase games for Virtual console that have only been released in your region. Games such as Earthbound or Sin and Punishment sadly wont be making it to our Wii Store. Nintendo said they will release around 10 virtual console titles per month covering NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Megadrive and TurboGrafx. Virtual Console pricing and line up is still unknown for Australia at this point but as soon as we found out, we will let you know.
