After the blowout of NX rumours / leaks from Eurogamer on what the NX might possibly be, it’s time to go back to some more standard rumours – you know the ones that don’t have as much evidence and seem a little off.
That’s this week’s rumour!
Industry publication MCV has shared some of it’s own news from its sources, one of which is actually reconfirming what Eurogamer reported last week was indeed ‘100 percent correct’.
So what does MCV claim to know themselves? It’s saying that within 6 months of the console launch there will be a major Mario and Pokemon title for the system. There’s not much on the Mario title but the Pokemon title is said to be in development by Game Freak themselves. So not a spin-off or unlikely to be.
There’s good news on the third party front too with MCV claiming that Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision and Warner Bros are all on board to support the system. Ubisoft and Activision have already mentioned the console in passing before too.
Lastly they also claim to know the ‘power’ of the console. Their source says it is somewhere between a PS3 and PS4. Whatever that means.
It’s a nice bit of kit, a bit of a novelty, but a good one. It won’t appeal to PS4 fans. Nintendo seems set on trying to upgrade smartphone gamers. That’s going to be a big job for the marketing department.
Well, that’s interesting.
Look at this point trying to figure out the ‘power’ of the console is a complete crapshoot, if it is indeed portable and indeed does dock we could be looking at different power configurations based on where you’re playing. So let’s just skip that one, it’s not even worth thinking about.
Mario in the first 6 months? Sure, a Pokemon game, Sure – but from Game Freak? Unlikely unless it is a Sun and Moon port. We know Nintendo delayed the NX from this year to next, so to have a awesome lineup of titles is even more possible because of that. We can totally see the first six to twelve months of the NX rocking – frankly Nintendo need it.
A fair rumour this week, as we get even closer to an unveil expect to see more like this. After all, nothing is ever going to top that Eurogamer leak.
Put a pin in it.
Preinstalled this time.
