Watch out, there are now counterfiet amiibo out there

It was bound to happen sooner or later, it’s a problem all toy manufacturers face. Fakes.

Counterfeit amiibo have now been spotted in the wild, of course these don’t actually work as amiibo but they are mostly pretty close to the real figures otherwise (packaging aside).

There’s likely no worry these will show up on Aussie shores, but just be careful when you spot that amiibo that’s a little bit too cheap on eBay from now on.

This ain’t good. While they won’t be infiltrating main retail chains… with the popularity and demand of amiibos, smaller stores are likely going to snap these up. Knew a post office that always had cheap toys and cards (Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.) Their secret was to have a connection in China that sent them over… they were all knockoffs, unknown to the elderly post office owners though.

Also like you mentioned, eBay is going to be bad for this.

I saw a Samus just like that on eBay AU a few nights ago, was wondering why the packaging was weird. There ya go.
