The Scene It? licence was previously held by Microsoft, meaning that the games were an Xbox 360 exclusive. However, Warner Bros Intereactive have seemingly snapped it up and that means, in addition to the Xbox, it will also be heading to the Wii and Playstaion 3.
Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen!, like the games before, it is a media rich trivia game that began its life on DVD. You go through a series of different theme quizzes, answering questions about movies and in some instances even watching parts of movies that you will be asked questions about.
Bright Lights! Big Screen! will feature 1000s of new questions, with a new party play mode being the focus. A new and improved single player mode will also be making the cut.
"The globally successful Scene It? brand and movie based trivia are a great fit for Warner Bros. as a games publisher and a film studio," said John Quinn, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "We are launching Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! on a variety of videogame consoles to more widely offer its dynamic entertainment experience to the expanding casual videogame audience."
The party trivia game market is a crowded one, but given that Scene It? is now on many more consoles it can now reach more people. It’s a great fit for the Wii which has so far has only seen a couple of these types of games, despite the party nature of the console.
