Mortal Kombat and Spyhunter to live on thanks to the buyout of Midway by Warner Bros

Didnt think you would be that easily rid of Mortal Kombat did you? Warner Bros who purchased Midway and their IP earlier this year says they have plans for their franchises.

Warner says “As a result of the Midway acquisition, which includes the Mortal Kombat and SpyHunter franchises. Warner Bros now has access to a greatly expanded catalog of valuable intellectual properties.” However this goes beyond just games with the WB saying that Midways properties may be “developed and re-released on new games and digital platforms, adapted for film or TV, leveraged for consumer products, or licensed to third parties.”

So no word yet what platforms these games, if they do end up being made, will end up on but least Midways game havent be lost to the rigours of time.
