Warner Bros. announces new DC Comics fighting game for Wii U

From the creators of Mortal Kombat.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has today announced Injustice: Gods Among Us for the Wii U.

The title is being developed by creators of the latest Mortal Kombat title NetherRealm Studios, and will feature an all-star DC Comics cast fighting ‘epic battles’ on a massive scale.

Some of the heroes and heroines who will be included in the game are Superman, Batman, The Flash and Wonder Woman. Injustice: Gods Among Us is now the second Warner Bros. title to be announced for the Wii U since last year’s E3 Expo reveal of Batman: Arkham City.

The only concern at this stage is the development status of Arkham City, as THQ recently halted the progress of Metro: Last Light for the Wii U – indicating third-party developers may be getting cold feet about the Wii U release. Warner Bros. has provided few updates on the development status of the Wii U port of Batman since the game’s original announcement.

Hopefully all important and necessary information about Injustice: Gods Among Us and Batman: Arkham City will be revealed at the 2012 E3 Expo next week.
