WarioWare D.I.Y. sent to die in Australia?

The D.I.Y. version of WarioWare could be out next week, did you know about it? We sure dont

The next iteration in the WarioWare franchise hits Australia next week… well, at least we think it does… but we don’t really know. Nintendo Australia has sent us an Australian copy of the game so we assume it must be out soon but their site and the majority of the retailers around the country have nothing. No literature was sent with the game either so we’re in the dark on this one.

We know Nintendo likes to keep their cards close to their chests in regards to release dates but is a week out too close?

So what exactly is WarioWare D.I.Y ? And why should you care?

WarioWare D.I.Y is a game for the Nintendo DS – it works on the Nintendo DS and DSi so anyone can play it, not just DSi owners. The game allows you to create microgames (5 second games), everything from the graphics and sound can be done all by yourself. You can also share and trade them online.  There is also a WiiWare companion to the game called WarioWare D.I.Y Showcase which, while it doesn’t let you make games like the DS version, allows you to play games created by others on your Wii. Showcase came out in Europe a couple of weeks back – naturally we missed out on it – hopefully it and the full DS game will be around soon enough.
