Vote in the 2010 Vooks Awards, win stuff

As the year comes to a close, its time judge whats come before it. But were flicking over some of it to you!

This year has been a big year for Nintendo, we’ve seen some truly great games from all companies on both the Wii and Nintendo DS. The digital download platforms have also received some truly great games and as per years before; it’s time to honour the titles, companies and the rest. There are also some fancy Vooks pens up for grabs for your time.

This year (and like last year) we’ll be asking you to pick your top five in the categories below. We want you to vote in a 5-point rating with 5 being the best. The rating is only for the ’primary awards’, you can just pick 3 for the ’secondary awards’.

Game of the Year (and why)

We’ve removed some categories this year and will be doing a more in-depth look at the disappointments and surprises of 2010 in separate article. Really, the Nintendo 3DS would have won wouldn’t it?

To be eligible for the main prize, you’ll need to submit a short reason along with your GOTY vote. It doesn’t have to be long, but we want to know why you have picked it, and the winner’s reason will be included in the article.

If you can’t think of 5 for each, just list what you can starting from 5 downwards. The forum thread will have all you need to know, including a sample vote. Voting for the reader’s award ends January 1st, so get in quickly! We (the Vooks staff) will be compiling our best as well, and winners of the competition will be revealed along with the article. We’ve also made the voting period shorter this year.

Don’t worry if you can’t remember everything that came out this year, we made a list in the link above too.

– This competition commences immediately, and will conclude on the 1st of January 2011. The Top 5 Entries will receive a pen (but we might be generous and give more).

– The competition is open to all residents of Australia and New Zealand except where prohibited by local law. You must be a member and have an active user name on the forum. The winner will be messaged on the forums if they have won. Winners have 90 days to claim prizes or they’ll be reused at a later time.

– Vooks staff members (past and present) are ineligible to win. Vooks is not responsible for lost or damaged mail and the prizes are not redeemable for cash.

– We reserve the right to substitute any of the prizes but will always do so for a prize of equal value. Vooks reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this competition at any time.

– Got invited to the Christmas party by mistake. Who knew?
