Resident Evil 4 (Capcom/Nintendo)
This one’s pretty unamious folk’s taking 57% of the vote is Resident Evil By Capcom, In Resident Evil 4 players are reacquainted with Leon S. Kennedy, Raccoon City Police Departments idealistic rookie cop from Resident Evil 2. It has been six years since the destruction of Raccoon City and in that time, the U.S. government has been able to destroy the nefarious Umbrella Corporation.

Resident Evil 4 moved the series out of the dark ages, updated its graphics, sound, and gameplay to be not only the Best Gamecube game of the year but one of the best games overall. If you haven’t pick it up yet, do so!

Dancing Stage Mario Mix (Nintendo/Konami) and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat (Nintendo/Namco)
Zelda: The Minish Cap (Capcom/Nintendo)
Again another strong finishing taking in over 40% of the Vote, when the sorcerer Vaati turns Princess Zelda to stone, the king of Hyrule sends Link on a quest that will take him to places he’s never imagined. Using the power of a mystical hat called the Minish Cap, the Hylian hero will shrink down for a massive quest…on a microscopic scale!

Minish Cap followed the Zelda Wind Waker style which looked simply superb, while the consoles get great 3D Zelda games, Nintendo keeps creating fabulous 2D Zelda adventures for the portables. While it is a little short its great from start to finish and should not be missed.

Pokmon Emerald (Game Freak/Nintendo)
Mario Kart DS (Nintendo)
Mario Kart rules the DS Roost this year beating out Animal Crossing only just, Mario Kart DS is the best game in the series whether you like the online or not its a great game to play by yourself, with mates or playing random people over the internet, letting players race and battle with up to eight karts at once, regardless of whether everyone has a game card is an awesome addition.

Including over 30 tracks from previous Mario Kart titles is a welcome addition as well, Mario Kart DS is the reason to own a Nintendo DS, its one of the most complete games you will ever play and worthy of this award.

Animal Crossing Wild World (Nintendo)
Zelda: Twilight Princess Delayed to 2006 Need we Say more?
While Mario Kart DS is great is was a bit castrated in the online department, Animal Crossing while being an excellent game in it own right is greatly enhanced when played Online, Nintendo we’re right in calling it a Communication Game, now while you can’t actually voice chat in the game, the whole dynamic of having friends just waiting to visit your town or visit them is simply superb. This is not to say Mario Kart is bad, however Snakers, the lack of some levels and a flawed matchmaking system were’nt enough for the juggernaught that is Animal Crossing.
Ever since the E3, Nintendo fans all over the world we’re wondering what’s the Revolution controller going to look like? We had a million and one concepts, fakes and photoshops, but it all took up until the TGS this September for the controller to be unveiled in it entirenty.

I’ll admit when I first saw it, there was the initial “”WTF”” as Im sure the rest of you were, however once we learned how it worked and how Nintendo plans to change the way we play some of us got it some of us never will. I’m sure the people who did’nt vote in this will still agree that the Revolution controller WAS the biggest suprise of the year, and we still dont know everything!
