Vooks Game of the Year Awards 2014: Best Wii U title (its a tie!)
It’s fast approaching the end of 2014 and it’s finally time to reveal the winners in the Vooks Game of the Year Awards.
Over the next few day we’ll be running through the winners from both our choices and yours. Now, onto the results;
Despite there not be a ton of Wii U titles to choose from this year, the quality of titles on offer for the system was right up there. Games like Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2 made things hard for us and for readers alike!
And now just like the previous awards we’ve had this week we’ve all agreed – too much it seems with the staff choice a tie and the readers choice one of those games as well!
Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 are tied winners for staff award, Smash wins it on your votes alone (although Mario Kart 8 wasn’t far behind on that one either!)
The only other games that registered anywhere near these two were Bayonetta 2 and Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze – the rest of the Wii U lineup got a spattering of votes. We all know what we like.
Here’s the list of awards officially;
- Vooks Games of the Year 2014: Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Vooks Game of the Year 2014: Super Smash Bros for Wii U – Readers Choice (38% of the readers votes)
Boom there it is!
Staff Choice Wii U Runners Up
- Bayonetta 2
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Readers Choice Wii U Runners Up
- Mario Kart 8 (33% of the vote)
- Bayonetta 2 (14% of the vote)
Tomorrow, all the other awards!
Wow, that is a pretty cool result. I have yet to pick up smash myself, so I can’t comment on that. But Mario Kart is such a deserved win, It is just an amazing game.
Good stuff, I love both too…. couldn’t split them.
Would be good to see a Vooks public vote also.
