1st Place and taking home a copy of New Super Mario Bros Wii.
New Super Mario Bros Wii: "Nintendo have taken us back to the glory days of 2D goodness. But with improved and equally catchy music, and a nice clean lick of paint. It uses the Wii remote (or ’waggle’ if you will) in the subtle and appropriate way that we are used to with Nintendo now, which helps freshen the classic Mario formula. Lets not forget the multiplayer chaos either. Yes HD fanboys, the Wii might not be serious enough for you, but it’s about fun, and there is nothing wrong with that." – benanen
And the runners up taking home a limited edition Mario figure:
Madworld: "Daring to be as violent and gore-filled as it is and challenged rating boards around the world, this game has to be Wii’s No.1 hardcore game of 2009 and one of Generation 7’s most violent and gore-filled games, not to mention fun! Impaling enemies in the head with 4 signposts, a trumpet to the arse and finishing them off with stuff like rosebushes, plane propellers, fire and moving trains is more fun than the actual bosses. Yes, killing the bosses is fun, but just killing randoms that appear on the street just because they’re there is more satisfying, and that has to say something about their developers, Platinum Games: EPIC WIN" – The Prophet
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks: "An absolutely fantastic game. A stunning soundtrack, fantastic dungeon and puzzle design, new weapons and an interesting new way of traveling through the overworld. This game takes what made Phantom Hourglass good and made it great. While the game isn’t perfect, what game is, it’s still easily my favourite game of the year (released in Australia)." – Dumbyugi
House of the Dead Overkill: "Some games are made to show off what can be done technically on a console.. others are made for pure enjoyment and it shows in this game. The characters are perfect, the plot is as over the top as the premise and it is a game that anyone can pick up and play (well OK, I might not give it to my Nan). This is a game that was crafted, that sets the bar for any other new light game from here in." indevelopment
Fatal Fury 2, Super Ninja Boy, Sutte Hakkun
