The team returns with it’s third ever in-depth critique episode. This game was one of the most controversial inclusions of the series it belongs too, and was so unsuccessful that it sparked it’s developer to completely change up the formula.
In case you haven’t worked it out, that game is Resident Evil Zero. James, Steven and Daniel run through the game’s development history, before diving straight into the game’s narrative and story. Moving on to Game Design, the team discusses the design of the game’s puzzles, battle system, enemy designs, item and inventory management as well as the most controversial element – how including a second character changes things up.
As per usual, the team discusses the game’s presentation and reflects on what the game could have been with Beta Elements.
