The Guitar Hero: On Tour developers have given their first clear indication that a DSi specific Guitar Hero is on the way for the new handheld.

Vicarious Visions have given their first clear indication that they are currently developing a Guitar Hero game for the Nintendo DSi. In an interview with IGN, the developer has revealed that the first three On Tour titles have been released to be a trilogy, finishing off these games before moving to “what was next”.

The next thing of course was the DSi and with their DSi Ware title Mixed Messages now released the team has some familiarity with the console which they say “definitely has all the core features of the DS, but it also has a lot of new things in there too.”.  Nothing much more was said on the topic of Guitar Hero, we imagine the next DSi enabled titles are still a while off.

Vicarious Visions also have revealed that the DS still has more potential to be realized. “The DS came out in 2004, we had a launch title with Spiderman 2, and now five years later we’re still doing great things on the DS.”  In 2004 we definitely didn’t think we’d see a Guitar Hero type game on the DS.
