Another Nintendo Guitar Hero port? Or something more intriguing?

Activision-owned studio Vicarious Visions is working on a multi-platform title for the Wii U, as well as the other HD consoles. Codenamed Project Nova, the title marks a transition for the studio, which has mostly made Guitar Hero ports for Nintendo platforms. Yes, this includes that wonderful DS version with that hand grip. This means, that despite spending most of their time with ports of the world’s more repetitive franchises, they’re not short on ideas.

What’s interesting is that alongside Project Nova, the studio is working on a Project Phoenix and Atlantis, both of which are for at least both the HD consoles. This seems to imply they’ve moved on from mere ports and are working on more original titles. Hopefully this means that Nova will be an original game too! Regardless of what it turns out to be, it’s good to see Activision getting behind the upcoming three platform dynamic.
