Sega has been a fairly strong supporter of the Switch, with Puyo Puyo Tetris, Sonic Mania, and Sonic Forces all being big hits on the console. Now, Sega is expanding their lineup, and they’re starting with one of their most-loved series — Valkyria Chronicles.
Sega announced in a YouTube video earlier today that a new game in its fantasy WWII strategy series, Valkyria Chronicles 4, is set for release in 2018 on Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. The Valkyria Chronicles series started in 2008 with a release on the PS3, and then continued with two more games on the PSP, finally followed up by a PS4 spin-off earlier this year. Seeing this previously PlayStation-focused series come to Switch is a huge deal, and it shows the dedication that Sega has to Nintendo’s latest console.
Unlike Valkyria Chronicles 3, which was never localised, this new game has been confirmed to be coming to the West on all platforms, though a firm release date beyond “2018” has not yet been announced. We’ll be sure to keep you updated but in the meantime, you can watch the announcement trailer below.
